Lake Lure Area Attractions
Guests at Rumbling Bald Resort have endless opportunities to explore our nearby mountain treasures including Chimney Rock State Park and the historic Biltmore Estate in Asheville. Whichever your choice, each can be reached with an easy drive from the Resort. We offer lodging packages that include tickets to Chimney Rock Park or the Biltmore Estate as well as other area activities including horseback riding and scenic cruises on Lake Lure.
Chimney Rock State Park
Your trip to the mountains isn’t complete until you’ve visited Chimney Rock State Park. Stand atop the Chimney and take in 75-mile views of Lake Lure and Hickory Nut Gorge. Not up for a walk, ride the 26-story elevator inside the mountain. The park is open daily, weather permitting, from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm 3/29/10 thru 11/6/10. Plan for a 20 minute drive from the Resort to Chimney Rock.
Chimney Rock Park Tickets
Discounted admission tickets for Chimney Rock Park may be purchased at Guest Services or the Wellness Center. Current prices are as follows: Adults - $13.00,
Ages 65+ - $12.00, Youth (ages 6 to 15) - $6.00
The Biltmore Estate
A visit to America’s largest home, the Biltmore Estate in Asheville is a guest favorite. If your plans call for a trip to the home, you may purchase advance tickets at either Guest Services or the Wellness Center desk. Plan for an hour drive to the estate from the Resort.

Discounted 2-day admission tickets for the Biltmore Estate and Winery in Asheville may be purchased at Guest Services or the Wellness Center. Prices vary by season.
