Lake Lure & Area Fishing
Lake Lure is as 720 acre lake filled with cool mountain water from the Rocky Broad River making it ideal both lake and stream fishing. At ordinary water levels, Lake Lure has a shoreline of approximately 21 miles. The deepest point is just over 100 feet. Today the lake is well regarded for fishing and you will find Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, Large Mouth Bass, Small Mouth Bass, Crappie, White Bass, Catfish, Bluegill and Sun-perch in this area.
Fishing Requirements
State licenses are required to fish in Lake Lure and the Rocky Broad River. Trout stamps are also required for local creek and river fishing. The town requires a boat permit which is available from the town hall (828) 625-9983 or by downloading and printing this boat permit application. The Resort has a boat launch available and overnight secure boat storage. Limited dock space is available for guests at an additional cost. Bald Mountain Lake
Guests may also enjoy fishing in the smaller Bald Mountain Lake at the Resort. No license or permit is required to fish in this lake. It offers a nice fishing pier and is a perfect place to take your children fishing.
