Lake Lure Triathlon Gallery

Each August, hundreds of outdoor sports enthusiasts visit Rumbling Bald Resort on Lake Lure to test their limits in the annual Hickory Nut Gorge Sprint Triathlon. It is the anchor event in a weekend of family festivities and athletic competition and is without a doubt the most scenic triathlon on the Setup Events calendar. The Sprint Triathlon includes a 500m lake swim, a 16.9 mile challenging bike course and a 5k run. Age and gender groups are assigned in age increments with the top three in each category receiving gold, silver and bronze medals.
