Rumbling Bald Resort’s unique location on the north shore of the 720 acre lake makes it a prime spot to throw out your fishing rods. The lake is filled with cool mountain water flowing from the Rocky Broad River making it ideal for both lake and stream fishing. Lake Lure has a shoreline of approximately 21 miles and its deepest point is just over 100 feet. Anglers will enjoy the variety of fish found in the lake: Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, Large Mouth Bass, Small Mouth Bass, Crappie, White Bass, Catfish, Bluegill and Sunperch. Guests may also enjoy fishing in the smaller Bald Mountain Lake at the Resort. It offers a friendly fishing pier and is a perfect place for children to fish. No license or permit is required to fish in this lake.

State licenses are required to fish in Lake Lure and the Rocky Broad River while boating permits are required from the Town of Lake Lure. For information on obtaining boating and fishing permits, please visit the Town of Lake Lure's website here.

For your convenience, we offer a boat launch and overnight secure boat storage. Limited dock space is available for guests at an additional cost. Please contact the North Shore Beach Cabana at 828.694.3019 for additional boating and fishing information.
