Greetings,

The Spring golf season has officially arrived and I wanted to reach out to all of our golfers and homeowners to make them aware of some exciting changes we have made in the off-season. Each year we identify areas on both courses where we can make immediate improvements for your playability of the course as well as the long term health of the golf courses. If you have been able to get out to the courses this off-season you have surely seen some of our handy work. I am going to list below some areas of improvement.

  • Renovated bunkers on Bald Mountain. #8 greenside bunker received a facelift and is now much more playable. We were also able to fix one of our weakest bunkers on #12 greenside. We also filled in a bunker on #12 off the back of the green that had virtually become unplayable.
  • Renovated bunkers on Apple Valley. We redesigned both the greenside bunkers on #9 and #10. They were very large bunkers that over the years saw much washing out whenever we had inclement weather. They were both very difficult bunkers to get out of and the new, smaller bunkers will help with playability.
  • Pond Dredging. The ponds at Apple Valley #8 and #16 have been cleaned out. The pond at #15 Bald Mountain has also been cleaned out.
  • The biggest thing you will notice is the return to mulching our flower beds throughout the courses. This will stand as a dramatic improvement for the overall looks and landscape of our two great properties.
  • Tree Trimming. We have plans to begin trimming some trees on the property as well as some removal. We are also planning to complete a small project at the fairway bunker on #1 at Bald to make for easier entrance to the fairway and more playability.
  • New flags have been ordered for both properties with a fresh new design.

We are proud of our two properties and our Maintenance staff has worked tirelessly the last few months preparing for the Spring season. Below are some April events to put on your schedule.

  • April 7th (BM), 14th (AV), 21st(BM) we are holding a Ladies Clinic from 10-11 for anyone who like to attend. No sign up needed.
  • April 4th is MGA Opening Day
  • April 5th is LGA Opening Day
  • April is LGA 9 Holers Opening Day
  • April 1st is a new outing for us this year and is being hosted by our very own Gabby Francis who works for us here at the resort. It is at 1:00 at Bald Mountain and it is to help raise money for the Special Olympics. If you would like to sign up, we have sign up forms in the Bald Mountain Pro Shop.

I hope see to you all out at the golf course soon and please let myself or my staff know if you have any questions and we will be glad to help you out.

Thank You and Keep it in the Fairway!!
